Phillip Alan Plants

Phillip Alan Plants, 65, of Parkersburg, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born July 30, 1951 in Lorain, Ohio, the son of Ann Lois Plants of Vienna, W.Va. and the late Robert Lee Plants. Phil graduated from PHS in 1969 and was a Vietnam Navy Vet serving on the USS Constellation. He worked for 37 years for Sabic formerly G.E. Plastics as a lab tech. Phil was a big Gear head, he enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. He was well known for his sense of humor and always a big jokester. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Ann Roberts Plants; one son, Matthew Alan (Amy) Plants of Vienna, and their daughters, Khylan and Kinzlynn; one daughter, Jessica Ann (Harold) Hughes and their daughter Ashley, also of Vienna; brothers, David Lee (Carolyn) Plants and Gregory Lynn (Rita) Plants both of TX; his special sis, Billie Plants of TN and her families; brother-in-law, Virgil Roberts (Dianna) and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leona and Michael Moore; and of course his faithful companion Tinkerbell. Funeral services for Phil will be held Monday, December 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna with Pastor John Lowther officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg at the funeral home. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
