Woodrow D. Bailes (Woody), 73, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away on October 28, 2011 after a brief illness with family and friends by his side. He was born February 15, 1938 in Parkersburg a son of the late Willard and Laura Lamp Bailes.Woody retired from A.B. Chance after 30 years of service. He was a member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and a Deacon. He later attended Mullen Memorial Baptist Church in Belpre, Ohio. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed visiting the elderly and reading his Bible.He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Sharon of 55 years and a loving father to his two daughters, Cindy Runion of Vienna, W.Va. and Lisa Stone (Jeff) of Belpre, Ohio. The joys of his life were his two granddaughters, Kristin Meeks (Tim) and Erica Ralston (Seth). He was also survived by two brothers, Gerald Bailes (Barb) of Tennessee and Walter Bailes (Peggy) of Parkersburg,W.Va.; four sisters, Patricia Morton of South Carolina, Ruth Hannah of Parkersburg, W.Va., Lucille Bush of Ohio and JoAnn Fund of Florida.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Willard; a brother, Bill; and two sisters, Dot Haynes and Doris Kerby.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Kent Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will befrom 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Donations may be made to Belpre Area Ministries, P.O. Box 101, Belpre, OH 45714.
