Wilmer Richmond Duerr

Wilmer Richmond Duerr 90, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away December 21, 2011, at Camden-Clark Medical Center-Memorial Campus, Parkersburg, W.Va.Wilmer was born March 15, 1921, in Parkersburg, W.Va. a son of the late George Lewis Duerr and Martha Ordell Richmond Duerr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Europe during WW II. Wilmer was an electrician with the Union #IBEW968. After retiring from the Union, he went to work at the City of Vienna as a building inspector. He enjoyed working his farm and raising cattle. Wilmer was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine and Scottish Rites, and a member of the Vienna Baptist Church.Wilmer is survived by three daughters; Dixie Holcomb and husband Jim of Parkersburg, W.Va., Lauria Snyder and husband Ken of Vienna, W.Va., and Jacinda Buckles and husband Clark ofVienna, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; Rebecca, James and John Holcomb, Russell and Rachael Snyder and Jacqueline and William Buckles; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Luzzetta Frances Scheer Duerr in 2000; one daughter, Luzzetta Frances Duerr; and one infant son.Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Vienna Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg with full military rites by the American Legion Post 15 and Masonic Services by Vienna Lodge 172. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va.
