William J. Renner

William J. “Bill” Renner, 86, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Ohio Valley Health Care, Parkersburg, W.Va.Bill was born April 3, 1926 at Worthington, W.Va., a son of the late William G. and Bonnie D. Basnett Renner.He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired as an engineer from the railroad with 33 years of service. Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 9 A.F.& A.M., Fairmont, W.Va., Knights Templar Crusade Commandery No. 6, Fairmont and a long-time member of the Belpre Church of Christ.Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Virginia Bruce Renner; a son, William J. Renner and his wife, Alisa, of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Fordyce; and a brother, George K. Renner.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio with Ronald D. Laughery officiating. Services will conclude with burial in Rockland Cemetery, Belpre with military graveside services by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
