William Rudolph “Rudy” Poole, 76 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away June 26, 2013 at McLeod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.He was born February 1, 1937 in Elkins, W.Va. a son of the late Lawrence H. and Myrtle Stewart Poole.He was a graduate of Lost Creek High School and earned a four year basketball scholarship to Glenville State College to do his under graduate work, along with playing basketball. He still holds the all time leading scoring record to this day for Glenville State. After his four years at Glenville he went on to Notre Dame University to obtain his Masters Degree and retired from E.I. DuPont as a computer analyst.Rudy loved the game of basketball. He also loved coaching his sons baseball and basketball teams and loved spending time with his family and friends. Rudy was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church where he served in many areas of the church.is survived by two daughters, Chata ( Jonathan) Seymour of Destin, FL, and Tara (Dave) Snyder of Monroe, NC; two sons, Jeff (Becky) Poole of Florence, SC, and Wesley (Telma) Poole of Vienna, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Monie Clifton, Jacob Poole, Caleb Poole, Maggie Haithcock, Elizabeth Poole and Lauryn Poole; three great-grandchildren, Jazmin Lee, Parker Mazhari and Olive Mazhari; and a sister, Judy Shahan of Huron, Oh. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lue Wheeler Poole in 2012; a granddaughter, Yamima Lee; and a brother, Bobby Poole.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
