William “Bill” F. McNickle II, 81, of Parkersburg, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on February 19, 2012.He was born on April 17, 1930, to the late Martha and William F. McNickle Sr. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Burdette's Sunoco as a mechanic and was a member of the South Parkersburg United Methodist Church. Bill loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping with his family. He had a love for NASCAR, Music, and his hometown, Belleville, WV.He is survived by his wife of 25 years, June McNickle; his son and daughter-in-law, William “Nick” and Amber McNickle of Parkersburg W.Va.; his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Steve Stanley also of Parkersburg, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Cheyenne McNickle, Tayler McNickle, Seth McNickle, Brayden McNickle, Nathan Stanley, and Matthew Stanley; one great-grandson, Hayden Hemmings; one sister, Violet Staats; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Lemley, Ruth Wickham, and Olive Roush.Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 23, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Housecalls Hospice for the exceptional care given to Bill over this past year.
