William Richard “Bill” LaRue, age 79 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away peacefully January 28, 2012 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.Bill was born April 15, 1932 in Newark, W. Va. a son of the late William D. and Rosa M. Gabbert LaRue. He was a Korean War Veteran having served four years in the U.S. Air Force. After leaving the service he met the love of his life Janet Phillips LaRue whom he married on April 13, 1954.Bill worked for Union Carbide and Elkem Metals and retired after 41 years service, he served as Union President for over 25 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 15, Masonic Lodge # 3, was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Nemesis Shrine and was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet LaRue; his children, Richard Daniel “Dan” LaRue (Suzette) of Deerwalk, W.Va., and Terry Payne (Dean) of Waterford, Ohio; seven grandchildren Michelle, Angela, Tracy, Dustin, Kristy, Anjanette and Brent; and five great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Phillip LaRue; one brother, Thomas Gayle LaRue; and one sister, Linda Lyons.Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Kevin Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full Masonic and Military Rites. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
