William Jackson Dennison

William Jackson “Bill” Dennison, 73, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away June 18, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus surrounded by his loving family.He was born March 6, 1940, in Lewis Co., W.Va., a son of the late Earl and Dorothy Bott Dennison.Bill attended Walkersville High School and Glenville State College on a basketball scholarship. He retired from E.I. DuPont with 37 years of service.He enjoyed time with his family, fishing, hunting, bowling, motorcycle riding and golfing year round. He was also involved in Little League Baseball when his sons were younger. His last project was having his son refurbish his 1965 Mustang. He was a member of South Hills Golf Course of Parkersburg and Shannon Green Golf Course in Manning, S.C. He attended South Parkersburg Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol McClain Dennison; one daughter, Pam Green of Belpre, Ohio; two sons, Skip Dennison (Sharon) of Walkersville, W.Va. and Rod Dennison (Stephanie) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Zita Stockert (Richard) of Columbus, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Bill McClain (Helen) of Roanoke, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Rachel Thomas (Scott) and Lacey Green, both of Belpre, Ohio; three grandsons, Billy Dennison (Erica) of Buckhannon, W.Va., Scott Dennison of Walkersville and Jake Dennison (Ashley) of Mineral Wells; three great-grandsons, Chance Bailey and Wyatt Thomas of Belpre, and Max Dennison of Walkersville; one step-great-granddaughter, Cora Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, James and Marie McClain; and one brother-in-law, James C. McClain.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St.. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He dedicated his time and devotion to his family who will remember his love, laughter and guidance.The family wishes to thank his many friends, the Advanced Care and Oncology Departments of Camden Clark Medical Center and the caregivers of Amedisys House Calls Hospice.
