William Glenn Clegg, 98 of Parkersburg passed away Jan. 2, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born May 28, 1914 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late James Mitchell and Susan Anna Rebecca Caplinger Clegg. He had worked at Vitro-Agate Marble Factory and later did contract labor work for Parkersburg Realty as a painter.William loved the outdoors where he spent time fishing, hunting, hunting turtles, and digging for ginseng. He was also a scrap metal collector. He was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in south Parkersburg.He is survived by five sons, Jeffrey W. “Jeff” Clegg of Parkersburg, William E. “Tobe” Clegg also of Parkersburg, Leslie G. “Bub” Clegg of Lubeck,Bernard D. “Tom” Clegg of Waverly, and Gene M. “Pete” Clegg of Coolville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Ethan Rankin.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Marie Daugherty Clegg; four brothers, five sisters; and three grandsons, Brian Scott Clegg, Timothy Brian Clegg and Howard Glenn Clegg.Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Terry Stewart officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
