Wayne H. Longmire, 85 of Vienna, W.Va. formerly of Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 9, 2012 at Camden Clark Medical Center-Memorial Campus.He was born March 30, 1927 in Parkersburg, W.Va., son of the late Joseph L. and Louise P. Kelly Longmire. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a repairman for Retail Control Systems and Friden Business Machines and had worked as a projectionist for all of the movie theaters in town. He was a member of Vienna Masonic Lodge #172 A.F.& A.M. and a member of the AMVETS and VFW. He was an avid bowler, bowling on the King and Queen League on Sunday night and the Senior League, all at Emerson Lanes. Wayne enjoyed river boating and was an avid Marshall fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Ridenhour Longmire whom he married April 3, 1946; two daughters, Christine (Chriss) Wilson and her husband, Bruce of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Jenny Knotts and her husband, Michael of Vienna, W.Va.; two sons, Joseph W. and John E. Longmire both of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Jason Wilson (Lynn), Terra Drake (Denver), Crystal Oyler (James), Katherine Bills (David), Matthew Knotts (Lisa), and Natasha Longmire; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Longmire; niece, Linda Mason; and nephew, Tom Longmire.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Longmire; and a nephew, Dale Longmire.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Rich McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Housecalls Hospice for their love and care.
