Wayne "Ike" Arnold Eickert

Wayne A. “Ike” Eickert, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Dec. 31, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born May 9, 1939, in Andover, Iowa, a son of the late Henry Arnold and Alma Manda Meinert Eickert.Mr. Eickert was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Dupont Washington Works in 1998. He was a member of the American Legion in Miles,Iowa and Andover Lutheran Church in Iowa.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley M. Leu Eickert, whom he married Nov. 7, 1959; one son, Mark W. Eickert (Mary) of Little Hocking, Ohio; one sister, Evelyn Mahmens of Clinton, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Betty Eickert of Clinton; two grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Eickert; one great-grandson, Graysen; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.Mr. Eickert's wishes were to be cremated. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. Burial of the cremains will be in the Decatur United Methodist Cemetery in Little Hocking, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
