A Video Tribute to Willy is now available on this site.Warren C. “Willy” Downs, 76, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.He was born September 2, 1938 in Riverhead Long Island, New York, a son of the late Chauncy and Marion Bennett Downs. Willy served two years in the National Guard and was an auto mechanic. He was formerly employed by Matheny's and Dils Ford and owned and operated Willy's Shop. He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and enjoyed all types of auto racing, restoring tractors, collecting antiques, gardening, and farming. He is survived by his wife, Norma Peters Downs; one daughter, Susan Whitney (David) of Dover, Delaware; one son, Keith Downs (Michelle) of Racine, Ohio; two sisters, Claire Fisher (Saul) of Denton, Maryland and Roberta Downs of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; one brother, Charles Downs (Mary Alice) of Waynesboro, Virginia; four grandchildren, Tye Gail, Zachary Downs, Jason Whitney, and Jazzmin Whitney; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with the Reverend Teresa Markins officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
