Waneta Alice Drake

Waneta A. Drake, 84, of Vienna, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2025. She was born April, 17 1940, a daughter of the late Walter and Edna Carter.

She was a 1960 graduate from Wirt County High School, worked at Spencer’s Manufacturing, and a custodian for Grace Baptist Church. She served many years as a Pastor’s wife, and enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and cooking.

Waneta is survived by her husband, Pastor Paul Drake; their children, Mary Treadway (Jeff) of Vienna and David W. Drake (Wendy) of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Connor Drake (Holly) and Alexa Drake; great-granddaughter, Lorelai Drake; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Carter.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Pastor David Sommerville officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Family will welcome visitors on Wednesday, April 9th, from 4 – 6 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.
