Virgil Havens, 92, of Parkersburg, passed away Dec. 7, 2013, at the Marietta Center.He was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Middletown, Ohio, a son of the late Harlon Havens and Eleanor Reynolds .Virgil worked at Century Products and retired from Vitro-Agate Marble Company. He was a member of Lauckport United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.He is survived by his wife, Deborah Arlene Barker Havens; three daughters, Rita (Jerry) Flowers of Vienna, W.Va., Julie (Mike) Murphy of Washington, W.Va., and Susan (Steve) Snyder of Sandusky, Ohio; three sons, Darrell (Debra) Havens of Mineral Wells, W.Va., David “Butch” (Nora) Havens of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Eugene (Sandy) Havens of Krum, Texas; one stepdaughter, Christina (Eric) Figeroa of Hawthorne, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Ireta Barker of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elsie C. Atkinson Havens; an infant son, Chester Havens; a sister, Virgie; and his father-in-law, Charles F. Barker.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Rev. Kenneth Nolan officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
