Vera Holcomb, 93, was called home on August 25, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center while surrounded by her loving family.She was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Warren, Pa., the youngest of six daughters born to Ray and Nellie Shade Ruhlman. She was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church.She is survived by her four children, Gary (Judi) Holcomb of Pasadena, Md., Jim (Dixie) Holcomb of Parkersburg, W.Va., Sue (John) Suttle of Long Bottom, Ohio and Kathy (Bob) Richards of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.She has been in her lifetime, a faithful, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was spent raising her children, helping in their family business “Susan Kay Candies Co.” and traveling with her husband for both business and pleasure. She was an avid reader and loved working crossword puzzles.She enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren over the years, and belonged to a ladies bridge club for many years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Howard C. Holcomb; and her five sisters.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Larry Dale officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleum.
