Velma Lee Steppenbacker

Velma Lee Steppenbacker, 67, of Stockport, OH passed after a brave battle with cancer at her residence on September 29, 2012.She was born March 7, 1945 in Zanesville, OH, the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Lizzie Price Henry of Zanesville, Ohio. She was a former owner/operator of Old Gem Restaurant, an avid OSU fan and she enjoyed crafts and fishing.Velma is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Steppenbacker; mother, Lizzie Price Henry; three daughters, Karen (Mark) Edwards, Michelle Thomas and Bobi (Jeremy) Bonar; two grandchildren, Savannah Hines and Jillian Scarberry and two great-grandchildren Dylan Hines and Ava Groomes. She is preceded in death by her father and two husbands; Darrell C. Thomas and Dean E. Ashton.At her request, there will be no public visitation or service. Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society. The Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, OH is assisting the family.
