V. Frances (Tripp) Smith Marlowe

V. Frances (Tripp) Smith Marlowe, 91, of Parkersburg, W.Va. formerly of Ripley, W.Va. died February 14, 2014 at her residence.She was born March 17, 1922, the daughter of Ernest and Vora Tripp of Prattsville, OH. Her mother died at child birth, so her great-aunt, Jennie Lewis of Spencer adopted her.She is a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Hather Court #3, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc. of Parkersburg, American Legion Auxiliary Post #15 of Parkersburg, Roane County Girls Club of Parkersburg, Inner Circle of the United Bank of Ripley, Woodmen of the World, and Senior Citizens on Market Street, Parkersburg. Her employment included G.C. Murphy Co. of Spencer, W.Va., 19 years with Super K Market in Spencer, and 10 years with 7-Eleven store in Ravenswood, W.Va., serving 8 years as manager, where she retired.Mrs. Marlowe is survived by one daughter, Peggy Burnside of Parkersburg, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Brian Scott Burnside and wife, Holly of Davisville, W.Va. and Tracy L. Neptune and husband, Jason of Georgia; and six great-grandchildren, Caden and Cody Burnside, Garret, Cole, Weston, and Eme Neptune.In addition to her mother, Jennie Lewis she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Craig Marlowe who worked for the B&O Railroad.Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. Interment will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery in Ravenswood, W.Va. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
