Thomas Baird Koerner 77 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.He was born May 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late Lottie Hoover.Thomas was a US Army Veteran having served in Korea and Viet Nam and retired from the US Army after 21 years of service. He had worked for Pinkerton Security for 17 years and enjoyed fishing and tinkering on items. Thomas is survived by his four children, Thomas B. Koerner Jr. and wife, Michelle, Susan Bee and husband, David, Katherine Koerner, and Linda L. Smith and husband, Mitchell all of Parkersburg, w.Va.; two sisters, Pauline M. Koerner and Rachel Gill both of Pittsburgh, PA; several grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella K. Law Koerner; and two brothers, David Johnston and Robert Koerner.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with full military rites by the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
