Thelma Louella Varner

Thelma L. Varner, 89, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away March 28, 2012 at her daughter's home. She was born February 11, 1923 in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walter A. and Ida J. Leasure Lee. Thelma was employed in home healthcare for several years and very much enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and also supporting church missionaries. She formerly attended the Marietta Bible Missionary Church. Surviving is one daughter, Shirley Geist (Timothy) of Vienna, W.Va.; three sons, Robin Varner also of Vienna, W.Va., Robert Varner (Margaret) of Richmond, Kentucky, and Bill Varner of Delaware, Ohio; three sisters, Clara Lee of Canton, Ohio, Alice Rice of Vienna, W.Va., and Jean Mullen (Web) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; three brothers, Dallas Lee of Parkersburg, W.Va., Milford “Bob” Lee of Tennessee, and Ronald Lee (Mary) of Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Tammy, Wesley, Susan, Kathryn, Michael, Melissa, Megan, and Kristyn; and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike W. Varner on December 27, 1963; sisters, Betty Bunner and infant Merle Lee; and four brothers, Harlan “Bud”, Paul, Kenneth, and Walter “Junior” Lee. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. William Hines officiating. Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
