Susie Katherine “Kay” Hall, 77, of Parkersburg, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.She was born on June 8, 1936, in Fayette County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Homer and Nellie Bennett of Backus Mountain.Kay graduated from Meadow Bridge High School and then continued her education at the Camden Clark Hospital School of Nursing in Parkersburg. She graduated as a registered nurse. Even after retirement she continued to be a caregiver for those surrounding her.Kay was a member of the Sams Creek Baptist Church and served as editor of “The Sams Creek Chronicle”, the church newsletter. She was organizer of the annual Hall family reunion and enjoyed spending her time surround by her many family members and friends. She was faithful to the Lord and a true blessing to everyone around her. Kay loved to sing and in doing so, shared her love and grace with all who were privileged to hear her sing. Her hands were never idle, she was always at work, sharing her gifts and helping those around her.Left to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 42 years, Dale Hall; beloved son and best friend, Mark E. Newell and wife, Norma of Coal City, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Gwinn and husband, Dusty of Beckley, W.Va. and Beth Farley of Coal City; one great granddaughter, Landrey Cadence Gwinn; two sisters-in-law, Maureen Bennett and Clara Bennett; one aunt, Mildred Vandell; loving nephews, Mike Ball and wife, Carole and Charles Bennett; loving niece, Patty Ball; great-nephews, John Ball, Daniel Jones and Thomas Bennett; great-great-nephew, Bryant Ball; great-great-niece, Riley Ball; and many other special family members and friends who she counted as family.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Bennett and Calvin Bennett; her sister, Mary Ellen Ball; her nephew, Thomas Bennett; and her great-niece, Angela Ball.Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastors Carl Radcliff, Mark Watkins and Tom Hall officiating. Entombment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
