Susan Gates

Susan H. Gates, 92, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away November 22, 2012 at Carriage Court Assisted Living, Grove City, Ohio.She was born July 22, 1920 in Racine, Ohio. She was the third of nine children of the late Frank and Mary (Singer) Holter. She has been a faithful member of the Summitt Valley United Methodist Church since August 5, 1979. She was a member of the Vienna Senior Citizens, Vienna Nutrition Site, Inner Circle Club of United Bank, Corning Glass Retiree's Club and Lifetime Partners of Camden Clark Hospital. She worked at Corning Glass and retired with 35 years of service.She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Norman Gates; one sister, Ethel Cooper, Pettyville, WV.,a.; three brothers, Delbert Holter of Malta, Ohio, Carl Holter of Marietta, Ohio and Dana Holter of Coolville, Ohio.She is survived by three sisters, Mattie Lawrence of Portland, Ohio, Dorothy Browning and Ruby Ann Turner, both of Grove City, Ohio; one brother, Charles (Billy) Holter of Racine, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many friends.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.V. with burial at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Viewing hours will be from 2:00 to9 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Special thanks to the staff of Carriage Court for their loving tender care. Also, Odyssey Hospice.
