Stella Hall

Stella Butler Hall, of Parkersburg, WV, who blessed our lives for 89 years, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at her home.

Stella was born February 20, 1935 in Beech, Calhoun County, WV, the youngest daughter and last surviving child of the late Roy and Martha Jane Lowers Butler.

She had worked at Kellwood Company in Spencer, WV and retired from WesBanco. She was a devoted Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and very dear and close friend to many. Stella was loved by many, especially for the dozens of zucchini muffins and cakes she baked and shared with everyone. She was a member of the Rosemar United Methodist Church since 1974, recently attended Seventh Street United Methodist and most recently Greater Vision Nazarene Church.

She was married to the love of her life, the late Darrell Glen Hall also originally of Beech, on June 23, 1956 in Spencer, WV.

Stella is survived by her daughters, Donna Roub, Brenda (Jason) Miller of Parkersburg and Linda (David) Batten of Elizabeth; her grandchildren, who will be her pallbearers, Adam Roub, Rebecca Overby, Justin and Wayne Batten and Joe and Josh Hall. Stella also leaves behind thirteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her only son, David Glen Hall; grandson, Tommy Overby; five brothers, Ray Brannon, Cliff, Delpha, Don and Nelson Butler and seven sisters, Gae Smith, Lura “Dot” Webb, Rushie Oglesbee, Lear Wears, Virginia Parsons, Genevieve Butler and Georgie Atkinson who she was very close with and best friends with all their lives.

A viewing will be held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St, south Parkersburg, Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm with prayer by Pastor Jeff Edman. On Sunday, the 24th viewing will be at Beech Methodist Church at 2 pm following by a service officiated by Rev. R. Edward Atkinson and Rev. Rick Metheney. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery, Calhoun County, WV with a graveside service.

The family would like to thank all those who gave Stella the best care possible and for making her final days comfortable and full of loving, caring people to help her on her journey.
