Sherry D. Rice, 63, affectionately known as “Grammy” by her grandchildren, of Parkersburg, was called home on March 11, 2013 at her residence.She was born March 8, 1950, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Joseph E. and Elva L. Marlow Anderson.Sherry worked as a dedicated nurse for over twenty years and was an avid Mountaineer fan, no matter what sport.She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Joseph D. Rice, Jr.; her mother-in-law, Betty Rice of Parkersburg; five children, Robert Rice and Brent Rice, both of Parkersburg, Shelley Rice (fiancé, Ronnie Young) of Denver, N.C., Sean Rice (Christy) of Parkersburg, and Jeremy Rice (Michelle) of Denver, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Cheyanne McGlothlin, Ryan Rice, Christian Anderson, Joey Rice, Courtney Anderson, Alexis Rice, Dakota Rice, Dylan Rice and Levi Rice; two great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Jayden McGlothlin; five siblings, Douglas Anderson (Mary) of Coolville, Ohio, Sheryl Jo Wilson of Parkersburg, Denise K. Humphries (Sam) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Christina Anderson and Sharon Wells of Parkersburg.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joseph D. Rice Sr.; one grandson, Shane McSherry Warner II; and one brother, Harry W. Wells.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Denise Humphries officiating.Interment will follow at Evergreen South.Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at the funeral home.
