Sheila Iona Starcher

Sheila Iona Starcher, 71, of Rockport, W.Va., passed away on Nov. 1, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.She was born June 16, 1942, in Boaz, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Buchanan Johnston and the great-grand-daughter of Edna and Omar Buchanan.Sheila was a homemaker and enjoyed humming birds, sewing and decorating cakes. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.She is survived by two daughters, Janice Brown of Lowell, Ohio and Connie Gore of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Martin Starcher (Robin) of Rockport, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Starcher in 2000; one son, Marvin Starcher in 1991; two grandsons, Gregory Starcher in 2013, and an infant, Kason Gregg; and one sister, Jacqueline Gabbart.Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
