Samuel E. “Sam” Harshbarger, 57 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away October 26, 2012 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.Sam was born Jan. 1, 1955 in Parkersburg a son of the late Catherine Harshbarger.He was a 1973 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. Sam worked at Kroger's in South Parkersburg and had been employed by Kroger's for 41 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, riding motorcycles, and all sports. He was a former youth baseball coach at Godbey Field. Most of all Sam enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren.Sam is survived by his daughter, Laura Harshbarger of Harrisville, W.Va.; his sons, Jason Harshbarger (Michelle) of Pullman, W.Va., and Nick Harshbarger (Andrea) of Williamstown, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lakyn, and Isaac Harshbarger; and two brothers, Dan Rogers of Stuart, Fla., and Kent Harshbarger of Parkersburg, W.Va. In addition to his mother, Sam was preceded in death by a brother, David Wilkinson.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Chris Waldron and Scott Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
