Samuel Farrah, 79 of Parkersburg passed away March 26, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family, friends and caregivers.He was born May 1, 1934 in Butler, PA son of the late Mike and Mildred Farrah. Sam was very proud of his family and took every opportunity to speak of them and share his love for them. He was very generous to all. He was of the Christian Faith and had been associated with the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church.Sam loved nature and particularly vegetable gardening, growing fruit trees and berries and Laurel Creek Farm. His favorite hobbies were playing golf, bowling and he loved going duck hunting whenever he was able.He worked in the sports bar businesses, Recreation Lunch and Smoke Shop. After retirement he volunteered in Same Day Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital which he enjoyed very much and where he made many friends.Sam is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Hall Farrah whom he married May 18, 1958; his daughters, Sara (Buddy) Taylor, Tammy (Paul) Hans, Lisa (Tom) McCarthy, and Linda (Tony) Brunicardi; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Wilkerson, Kristi (Clinton Smith) Taylor, Charlie (Morgan) Taylor, Matt Hans, Joseph Hans, Rebekah Hans, Michael Hans, Tommy (Ashley) McCarthy, Sammy McCarthy, Katie McCarthy, Gina (Adam) Brunicardi-VanWay, Angela (Brandon) Brunicardi-Doss, Talia Brunicardi, and Tony Brunicardi II; great-grandchildren, Draeden Taylor-Funtieo, Carter Smith, and Jack Samuel McCarthy; step-great-grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Robert M. Wilkerson, Essence Wilkerson, and Devon Henderson; his sister, Marcella Harris; and his brother, Michael (Bonnie) Farrah Jr.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Lillian Thomas. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Emmanuel Baptist Church on 23rd St. in Parkersburg with Dr. Kurt Busick officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with graveside services. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg.The Farrah family wishes to thank his private caregivers, Colleen, Misty, Cindy, Donna, Connie, Pam and Cheryl for their care and dedication.
