Sally Jo Towner

Sally Jo Towner, 65, of Lubeck, WV, passed away surrounded by her family, April 10, 2020 in her home due to a long battle of health issues. She was born December 19, 1954, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter to the late Jerry and Jessie Towner. Sally was a 1973 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, attended secretarial school and worked at Camden Clark Hospital. She was a member with over thirty plus years with the Veterans Club, where she was loved and known as a favorite bartender. She was a fun, loving and caring person who always was ready to play cards and to help her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Michael Towner Jr. and Christopher Towner; a brother in-law, Carroll Wigal; and a nephew, Scott Wigal. Sally is survived by her daughter, Jessica Towner (Sarah) of Ritchie County; baby brother, Theodore “Teddy” Towner of Lubeck, WV; sisters, Doris Hodge (Bob) of Lake Placid, FL, Sherry Lowers of Lubeck, WV, and Amy Norton (David) of Martinsburg, WV; sister in-law, Linda Towner of Washington, WV; grandson, Jeremiah Drain; aunts, an uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins she dearly loved; and her true love (which we all knew) was her dog, Mikey. The Towner family would like to thank everyone who has stopped by to say hi, prepared food or to just sit with Sally, all of the phone calls, prayers and the facebook messages. A special thanks to Teddy for being there for her, special family and friends, her care givers, Pam Riffle of Parkersburg and Annie Lamb of Vienna with whom she counted on day and night. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department in c/o Chief Mark Stewart, 1340 Harris Highway, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Donations would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
