Russell Warren Lockhart, 83, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born on June 2, 1929, at Camden Clark Hospital, Wood County, W.Va.He was the son of the late Frank and Mary Bell Buck Lockhart.He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1948, and retired from E.I.Dupont in 1990 after 34 years of service.He loved to play golf and was a member of the Worthington Golf Course. He was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.He enjoyed meeting the third Wednesday each month, with the McFriends of Vienna. These are Christian men who save their J. Dollars for the Good Samaritan Center of Vienna, and of course they all shared Christian Fellowship with each other.Russ is survived by his loving and attentive wife of 36 years, Carol Lockhart. He is also survived by eight children whom he loved dearly, Sally Gloeckner (David Gloeckner), Jane Cookson (Frank Cookson), Mary Barnette (Scott Barnette), Larry Pelfrey, Susan Phelps (Pastor Robby Phelps), Mark Lockhart (Diana Lockhart), Peggy Goldston (Robert Goldston), and Kathy Davis (Doug Davis); as well as 21 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Russ is also survived by his sibling, Hila Friedlander who lives in Tennessee.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine; brothers, Carroll, Ray, Arlie, Glen; and sisters, Audrey, Bessie and Hazel.Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Dr. Daniel D. Bryan officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Contributions can be made to Good Samaritan Center.Russ will be truly missed and respectfully remembered as he was a huge presence in the lives of everyone who knew him.
