Rose Mary Murphy

Rose Mary Murphy, 70, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 31, 2011, at Sistersville Center.She was born November 8, 1940, in Belaire, MD, a daughter of the late Raymond B. Murphy and Virgie I. Jones Murphy Backus. Rose was a former proof reader for The Parkersburg News and Sentinel for thirty-one years. She was an animal lover and had also formerly held a license in social work and was a volunteer with hospice. She was also a competitive card player, which she very much enjoyed. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.Surviving are two aunts, Betty Morey of Vienna, W.Va., and Evelyn Jones of Miamisburg, OH; and cousins, Beverly Ann Clark of Grand Junction, CO, Linda Martin of Moore, OK, Michael Eddy of Miamisburg, OH, Larry Jones also of Miamisburg, OH, Steve Morey of Belpre, Ohio, Dan Morey of Vienna, W.Va., and Mark Morey of Parkersburg, W.Va.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 3, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., with Father Eric Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday November 2, 2011 with a vigil service observed at 7PM at the funeral home.
