Rosalee Anne Johnson

Rosalee Anne Johnson, 78, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away June 16, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was born March 8, 1933, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Sam and Eva Wilson Staats.Rosalee was a homemaker and had also been employed as a secretary with several local businesses, including Stern Brothers, the WV Unemployment Department, and Rish Equipment Company. She very much enjoyed shopping, word puzzles, crocheting, dancing, and reading; and as a child, really enjoyed swimming and also horseback riding in later years with her husband. Surviving is her loving husband, William Elbert Johnson, whom she married December 1, 1951; three daughters, Melinda “Suzi” Scholl (Steven) of Vienna, W.Va., Bettina “Tina” Hopper (Terry) of Madison, NC, and Tami Jo Summers (Steve) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Charlotte Traugh and Linda Beckett, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; several grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, William “Buzzy” E. Johnson II; and her sister, Louise Thirouin.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 19, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va., with Pastor Robert Watkins officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date which will be announced. The Johnson family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
