Ronald L. Wright

Ronald Leroy Wright, 64, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away April 21, 2011, in Wytheville, Va.He was born December 7, 1946, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late James Dayton Wright and Martha Arberdean Dennis Sams.Ron was formerly employed with CSX Railroad and The Bureau of Public Debt. He had also been employed with Buddy Stables since 1981 and more recently LSM Investments, Pittsburgh, Pa. He enjoyed snow skiing, camping, roller-skating, and especially enjoyed boating. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served three tours in Vietnam, ending his 11-year military career as a drill sergeant.Surviving is his loving wife, Jane Ellen Prunty Wright, whom he married in 1976; two daughters, Lora Knapp (Jason) and Kathy Wallace, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his grandchildren, Chris and Kaylee Stoops, Tristan Fought and Austin, Druid and Eowyn Knapp; his great-grandchildren, Madysin and Zayden Stoops and Jace Elliot Leroy Biehl, who is on the way; one niece, Theresa Barker; three nephews, Jon, Ronnie and Jimmy Barker; his special cousin, Christina “Tina” Stephens; friends, Kevin Allen Biehl and Buddy Stables; and his beloved dogs, Lacey, Holly and Jambi.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joseph Sams; one sister, Diane Barker; and one nephew, Tommy Barker.Memorial services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with the Rev. Sandy Runion officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, P.O.
