Ronald Dixon Wines

Ronald Dixon Wines, died peacefully at home on February 25, 2020 in Parkersburg, WV at the age of 80. Ron was born on August 21, 1939 in Parkersburg, WV to Lewis and Maxine Wines. He graduated from PHS in 1958, where he was the State Wrestling Champion for 1957 and 1958 and was a member of the PHS football team. He married his wife, Priscilla in 1960 and was employed at Marbon Chemicals/Borg-Warner/GE, as a warehouse supervisor, where he worked for over 30 years. The couple welcomed five children into their home and Ron set about teaching them lifelong values. His children remember him as a kind father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Ron was accomplished at hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors. He was a lifelong member of the NRA. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved his family. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, the Parkersburg Yacht Club and the Parkersburg Country Club. He was also a beloved member of the Rat Pack and helped start Boy Scout Troop 116 in 1974. Ron is survived by his wife, Priscilla; children, Ronald D. Wines II, Mary Jane Coffman (JC), Laurie A. Courier, Andrea S. Howard (Mark) and Angela M. Wines, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Archer, Phyllis Khors and William Wines. He is preceded in death by his parents Maxine and Lewis Wines; brother, Robert; Sister, Irene and beloved grandson, Ronald D. Wines III. A Memorial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father George Nedeff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Memorial Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Charity of your choice in Ron’s name.
