Ronald Clayton Wells, 80, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on August 7, 2014 at The Willows. He was born June 14, 1934, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late John and Eunice Faye Deem Wells. Ron was a 1952 graduate of Parkersburg High School, attended Fairmont State College, West Virginia University and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Dupont with 25 years of service. He owned Parkersburg Auto Body Shop and enjoyed fixing up cars. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #3 and Grace Gospel Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Layman Wells; two daughters, Tina Knopp (Rob) of Dallison, W.Va. and Sue Harris (Joe) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one son, Ronald Wells Jr. of Parkersburg; one brother, Don Wells (Sandy) of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Leslie D. Couture (Chris), Amy Harris, Robbie Knopp (Wendy) and Meghan Budzyn (Matt); four great-grandchildren, Tristan and Liam Couture and Millie and Maci Budzyn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Wells. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 20014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. in the Wells Chapel with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
