Roger D. Woodyard, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at his residence. He was born March 3, 1951 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Dale and Mary Ann Sheppard Woodyard. Roger was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired after 36 years as a planning supervisor for the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. Roger enjoyed golfing, coaching baseball and spending time with family. He is survived by his son, Jason J. Woodyard (Kathleen) of Parkersburg; three sisters, Pat Grimm of Parkersburg, Billie Langfitt of Vancleave, MI and Brenda Goudy of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Kate, Jake and Casey Woodyard; the love of his life and care giver, Valerie Cline, her son and his wife, Shaun and Sarah Murray and their children Luke, Chloe and Ruby who were like his own; special friend, Venita Lyons; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by an infant sister, Peggy Woodyard; and aunt, Edythe Woodyard. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Antioch Cemetery, Palestine, WV with Pastor Kenneth Fullerton officiating and military graveside rites observed. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Tuesday August 3, 2021 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg.
