Robert Deo Whited

Robert Deo Whited 71, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born May 28, 1942 in Roane County, W.Va., a son of the late Ottis and Anna Randolph Whited.Robert was a 1960 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and served for four years in Japan and other areas of the world. Robert went to work for the City of Vienna in 1965 and retired as a foreman from the Water Department in 2011. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and being in the outdoors.Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Martha Stephens Whited; two daughters, Heather Mixson and husband, Phillip and Robin Alawat Strauss and husband, Jason all of Vienna, W.Va.; one son, Matthew Whited and wife, Nicki of Vienna, W.Va.; two sisters, Jackie Bartlett of North Carolina, and Sheila Bartlett of Belpre; two brothers, Roger and Randy Bartlett both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; ten grandchildren, Erica, Amy, P.J., Emmy, Lea, Caleb, Aubrey, Alyssa, Ayden, and Austin; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Doris Whited; an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Anthony Alawat; one brother, Michael Whited; one sister, Deloris Armstrong; and one infant sister, Karen Whited.Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. Interment will follow at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.The family requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD. 20852-3914 in memory of Robert.
