Robert Cleo Vance

Robert Cleo Vance, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on December 31, 2012 at his residence.He was born May 3, 1938, at Mt. Vernon, Ohio, a son of the late Chester and Louise Gabbert Vance.Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a laborer with Union Local 1085. He loved CB's and his handle was “Hambone”. He also enjoyed fishing and his dog “Bango”.He is survived by his wife, Leona F. Myers Vance; three daughters, Katherine Lamb of Gassaway, W.Va., Debra Vance and Diane (Gene) Ellison both of Parkersburg; three sons, Robert B. (Sarah) Vance, Chris (April) Vance and Terry (Crystal) Vance, all of Parkersburg; one sister, Betty Kimble of Belpre, Ohio; two brothers, Ronnie Vance of Ohio and James “Sonny” Vance of Parkersburg; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy McIntyre; and one brother, Kenny Vance.Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating.Interment will follow at Merrill Chapel Cemetery in Wirt County.Visitation will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
