Robert Irvine Petty

Robert Irvine Petty, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Nov. 27, 2013 at his residence.He was born March 17, 1929, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late William Harold and Mary Vaughan Petty.Robert was a veteran of the Army National Guard and retired from the City of Parkersburg. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a Christian by faith.He is survived by three sons, Michael (Janell) Petty of Parkersburg, W.Va., David (Jean Charlton) Petty of Vienna, W.Va., and Rick (Tammy) Petty of Parkersburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Moore Petty; three brothers, Paul William, Francis Eugene and Richard Petty.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
