Robert Lee Lonas

Robert Lee Lonas, 71 of Washington, W.Va. passed away August 8, 2013 at his residence.He was born October 25, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late Charles and Pearl Varner Lonas. He was a 1959 graduate of Cairo High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Robert was retired from E.I. Dupont after 36 years of service. He enjoyed working on tractors and engines and loved spending time with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Shields Lonas; his children, Daniel R. Lonas (Kay) of Friendly, W.Va., Trina L. Barber of Parkersburg, and Michael W. Lonas of Washington, W.Va.; brother, Butch Lonas (Helen) of Ellenboro, W.Va.; grandsons, Cole Lonas, Hayden Barber, and Corey Michael Lonas; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Alex Barber; a brother, Raymond Lonas; an infant brother; and a sister, Virginia Goodwin.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Rev. Dr. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Cairo I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in Cairo, W.Va. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Full military rites will be conducted by the Harris-Ritchie VFW Post #3554.
