Robert L. Hickman, 75, of Vienna, W.Va., a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord, Friday, December 23, 2011, at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born October 15, 1936, in Marshall County W.Va., a son of the late Earl E. and Selma Pitzer Hickman. Robertwas a U.S. Army veteran, and retired from the Bureau of Public Debt after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg. He and his wife, Patty helped with the founding, and were very active with the Sanctuary House of the church.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patty Leeson Hickman; two daughters, Melissa Bennett (Ricky) of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Tina Perdue of Williamstown, W.Va.; one son, Craig Hickman (Leslie) of Big Bend, W.Va.; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen East of Virginia, and Evon Allen of West Union, W.Va.; one brother, Lynn Hickman of Boaz, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant children; two brothers, Bud and Dallas Hickman; and two sisters, Cloretta Hickman and Norma Nicholas.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Beechwood Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Ken Calebaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in West Union, W.Va. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to Sanctuary House, in care of Beechwood Presbyterian Church 703 30th.
