Robert C. Smith

Robert C. “Smitty” Smith, 84 of Stow, Ohio passed away Feb. 6, 2013 at Summa Hospital in Akron, Ohio.He was born May 15, 1928 in Parkersburg, W.Va. son of the late Cecil and Beulah M. McPherson Smith.He was retired from SK Wellman Company after 37 years of service. Smitty was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and bluegrass music. He especially liked traveling by motorcycle throughout the United States with his wife. He is survived by his son, Randolph Lee Smith of Stow, Ohio; daughter, Sheila Lynn Northcraft also of Stow, Ohio; grandchildren, Morgan Smith and Sarah Smith both of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Miranda Smith of Peninsua, Ohio; and several other relatives and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Violet Virginia Smith.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Kenneth Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
