Robert Lee Asbury

Robert Lee Asbury, 78, Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away at his residence on May 10, 2013 after an extended illness.Robert was born on September 13, 1934 in Waynesboro, Va., the son of the late James A. and Velda M. Rorrer Asbury.He worked in Construction Management at E.I. DuPont and loved collecting antiques, WVU Mountaineers and James Dean.Robert is survived by his wife, Susan J. Hedrick Asbury, whom he married May 14, 1955; one daughter, Betsy Parsons of Vienna, W.Va.; one son, Robert L. Asbury, II of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, James “Bill” Asbury (Karen) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Sean M. Parsons (Andrea R.), Olivia “Brooke” Asbury, Jessica L. James and William “Owen” James; and one great-grandchild, Penelope R. Parsons.In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny L. James; one sister, Edith Sentelle; and one infant brother, Michael Asbury.Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with Chaplain David Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
