Richard Lee West, 82 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Sept. 3, 2012 at Worthington Manor Nursing Facility.He was born April 9, 1930 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Andy L. and Ova Dodge West. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and retired after working 42 years at Union Carbide as a foreman. He coached baseball and was a longtime member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church. He had attended New Hope Baptist Church and was currently a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church.Richard is survived by his wife of seven years, Patricia Elder West; daughter, Kathy Jo Creamer and husband, Robby of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Richard L. West and wife, Diania of Concord, N.C., and Michael L. West and wife, Dawn of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two step-daughters, Cynthia Miller and friend, Darrell Williams of Ohio, and Debra Beha and husband, Quentin of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Greathouse West; and brother, Robert Earl West.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.The family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer Association or the Humane Society.
