Ray N. Mahaffey, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on October 30, 2012 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus surrounded by his family.He was the son of the late Howard M. Mahaffey and Emma Mahaffey Elliott.Ray was a boilermaker and a member of Union Local 667 for 65 years. He was an avid WVU fan and Cincinnati Reds fan. He also loved golf. He served his country in the Korean Conflict as an Army tank repairman, earning a bronze star and purple heart. Ray was a member of the American Legion Post 15.He is survived by three daughters, Jackie (Ken) Enoch, Mary Jane Anderson, and Hattie (Daryl) Tracey; five grandchildren, Sara (Mike) Wilson, Justin (Heather) Enoch, Madison Tracey, Vanessa Anderson and Chase Anderson; and four great-grandchildren, Natalee and Ellie Enoch, and Gideon and Isaiah Wilson.He is also survived by one brother, Howard (Lucille) Mahaffey; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Wilcoxen Mahaffey; his second wife, Ruth Sayre Mahaffey; three infant sons, Ray, Thomas and Philip; son in law, Danny Anderson; sister, Helen Hess; and brother, Robert Mahaffey.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Justin Enoch officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
