Randel Dean Fowler, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Sept. 1, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. Randel was born May 8, 1939, in Grantsville, W.Va., a son of Osa Wilson Fowler of Grantsville and the late Lowman P. Fowler. He was a graduate of Grantsville High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1958-1962. Randel retired from E.I. DuPont Co. after over 30 years of service. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching WVU Mountaineer football, the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR. He also enjoyed old cars, mowing the lawn and looking for golf balls. In addition to his mother, Randel is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Greathouse Fowler; two daughters, Brenda Hronec (Kevin) of Westerville, Ohio, and Beth Parsons (Tom) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Hronec and Bayley and Breanna Parsons; and one brother, Mike Fowler (Sherry) of Parkersburg, W.Va. A funeral service for Randel will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg will begin the service with military honors. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Calhoun County, W.Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
