Randall James “Randy” Newberry, 53, passed from this life April 28, 2012 at the Willows Center in Parkersburg after suffering a massive stroke.He was born Dec. 4, 1958 in Parkersburg, the son of the late James Newberry and Patricia Turner Newberry of Parkersburg. He resided at Slate.He graduated from Parkersburg South High School in 1977 and attended WVU-P.He was employed by Bel-Can Corporation at their Bayer Plant in Charleston, W.Va. as a computer draftsman designer until April 2010 when he became disabled. Randy was noted for his love of bluegrass and country music and was an accomplished guitar player. He could play anything with strings except a fiddle. He loved Nascar racing, fishing, and being with his friends and his dog, Chipper.He is survived by his mother, his brother, Douglas Newberry, his sister, Natalie (John) Bartmess, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his adopted daughter, Samantha (Brady) Taylor of Blacksburg, Va.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Ethel Newberry and James and Hattie Turner; and his uncle, Robert Turner.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to R. Randall Heavner for his care through the past two years. Also to the nursing staffs at Camden Clark Medical Center Critical Care and Acute Care areas and all the personnel at the Willows Center. We appreciate all of the care, help and understanding you have given us.The service for Randy will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Steve Fuchs, minister from Lubeck Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
