Ralph Lorin Martin

Ralph L. Martin, 75 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his residence.He was born January 5, 1939 at Rock Cave, Upshur County, W.Va., a son of the late Walter Dallas Martin and Katherine Cutright Martin. Ralph was a 1956 graduate of Harrisville High School where he and his wife later enjoyed attending the class reunions. He attended Glenville State College, Glenville, W.Va. Ralph was retired after 28 years of service from GE Plastics where he was a senior tech at the quality control lab. He enjoyed reading, collecting magazines, golfing, old cars and going to car shows. He was a member of the East Vienna United Methodist Church where he was treasurer for over 35 years and has held many other offices at the church.Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Jennie Riggs Martin; two daughters, Tammy Martin and Tina Williamson and husband, John all of Vienna, W.Va.; two sisters, Lois Sizemore of Ohio and Mary Ann Stewart of California; one brother, Lynn Martin and wife ,Mona of W.Va.; one granddaughter, Brandy Baker and husband, Mike of Vienna, W.Va.; and two great grandchildren, Alex Amick and Peyton Baker.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Ralph and Byrd Cutright, and Oran and Cora Balsley.Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Daniel Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Memorials may be sent to Amedisys Hospice Care, 417 Grand Park Drive Suite 206, Parkersburg, WV 26105 in memory of Ralph.
