Paula Marie Garner, 75, of Vienna, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at her residence. She was born January 24, 1945 in Pennsboro, WV, to Arlene McCullough Taylor Snyder and the late Phelps Taylor. Paula graduated from Pennsboro High School with the class of 1962. She attended Mountain State Business College in Parkersburg. She formerly worked for the IRS in Washington, DC and for the State Legislature in Charleston, WV, but first and foremost she was a homemaker and caregiver. Paula was truly a servant to others and never met a stranger. Her beautiful smile lit up a room. She was a faithful member of the Lord’s Church, attending the 36th St. Church of Christ in Vienna for the last 48 years. She was a Bible school teacher and co-founder of the Bread Basket program, delivering meals to shut-ins and the sick. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, of 54 years, Terry Garner; one daughter, Julie Moser (Steve) of Nashville, TN; two sons, John Garner (Kecia) of Vienna, WV, and Jason Garner (Heidi) of Edmond, OK; ten grandchildren, Hayden, Alivia, Claire, Sophia, Taylor, Addison, Alan, Nathaniel, Jesse, and Meg; two sisters, Ellie Blankenship of Clemmons, NC; Diane Beall (Ronnie) of Canaan Valley, WV; one brother, Pete Taylor (Debbie) of Pennsboro, WV; a brother-in-law, Steve Hayhurst of Pennsboro, WV, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Bob Snyder and one sister, Marilyn Hayhurst. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the 36th St. Church of Christ in Vienna with Mike Moss, Mark Mason, and Tom Butterfield officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and one hour prior to the services, at the 36th St. Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers please do a kind deed for someone else or memorial donations may be made to the 36th St. Church of Christ.
