Patty Ann Caltrider-Godfrey

December 31, 1939 — June 1, 2020

Patty Ann (Caltrider) Godfrey passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 1, 2020. Those who knew Patty knew her story well. As she was fond of saying, she was the youngest of seven, the oldest of three and an only child. She was born on December 31, 1939 the daughter of Okey Herman Caltrider and raised by Clara May (Cain) Caltrider. It was Clara who encouraged Patty to go to church along with the family of Lloyd and Ernestine Sams, the parents of her lifelong friend, Mary Ann. She was a member of Vienna Wesleyan Church and was a 1957 Graduate of Parkersburg High School (“The Class of ’57 had its dreams”.) She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald Ross Godfrey; three sons, Patrick Brian (Theresa), Michael Ross (Janet) and Timothy Alan (Rebecca); four grandchildren, Logan Abraham (Molly), Joshua Brian (Taylor), Ingrid Atchison and Maxwell Ross; great-grandson, Hudson Abraham; and dear sister, Irene, who because of her pleading allowed Patty to be taken into the family that cared for and raised her. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her four brothers, Paul Raymond, Owen Richard, Carl and Robert; and sister, Pauline. Patty lived a joyous Christian life and shared that joy with those fortunate to have crossed her path. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Rick Brookens officiating and Pastor Russell Wooten assisting. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Vienna Wesleyan Church, PO Box 5277, Vienna, WV 26105, where the funds will be distributed to the many charities supported by Patty and Don.
