Patricia Ann Pennock, of Parkersburg, departed this life on June 24, 2014 at home under the loving care of her husband, Alva and caregivers from TLC in Home Care Services, Wood County Senior Citizens and Amedisys.She was born on March 26, 1935 to David Leftrich and Thelma Muncy Boyles in Harvey, W.Va., the daughter of a coal miner. The family moved to another coal camp in Lochagelly, W.Va. before eventually settling in Oak Hill in the early 1940's. Pat graduated from Collins High School in 1953 where her mother served as head cook. She wed Alva Marion Pennock on October 4, 1953 and made Parkersburg their home in 1961. She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital in 2000 after 28 years of service as a licensed practical nurse. She was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church (formerly known as Broadway Baptist Church) for over 50 years where she served as a Deaconess, was a member of the Rebekah Circle, and was involved in American Baptist Women at the church and association level. Pat was active for 59 years in Eastern Star in Oak Hill and Parkersburg Chapter #14 where she had served as Past Matron of the Clara Edna Chapter #140. She served as past grand representative to Sao Paolo Brazil and was involved in the South Parkersburg Women's Club where she rose to the office of President. She was also involved in the Red Hats in her later years. Pat was a den mother in Pack 17 when her sons were Cub Scouts.Pat is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Alva M. Pennock; her three sons, David (Doreen) of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Doug (Patty) of Leonardtown, Md., and Dan (Janie) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Daniel (Judy), Amy Traugh (Andrew) of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Lucas of Mineral Wells, Bryan of Lexington Park, Md., and Bethany, Matthew and Philip all of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; as well as four great-grandchildren, Isaac and Samuel Pennock, and Lillian and Hattie Traugh, all of Parkersburg.Her parents, David Leftrich and Thelma Boyles, preceded her in death.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, Parkersburg
