Patricia Joan Moore

Patricia “Joan” Elder Moore, 69, of Parkersburg, passed away Dec. 29, 2013, at her residence.She was born Nov. 1, 1944, in Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Richard W. and Jessie Jones Elder.Joan was a 1962 graduate of Parkersburg High School, was a graduate of the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Parkersburg, as a registered nurse, had worked for several local doctors and retired after 16 years, working for Dr. Nik Shaw. Joan enjoyed fishing and being with her family.She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William “Harold” Moore; two sons, Brian L. Moore (Susan Doughty) of Lafayette, Colo., and Eric D. Moore of Parkesburg; two grandchildren, Kyle and Carson Moore; and a sister, Ernestine Snodgrass of Harrisville, W.Va.Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kester Elder.Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Taman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Visitation will be from noon until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
